Supporting the Preston community

Our head office is based in Winckley Square in Preston and our partners and staff play an active role in the local community.

Our Preston office is a proud member of The North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce (NWLCC), which is the region’s largest business membership organisation and staff regularly attend events hosted by the chamber. Preston team members also actively support the SHOUT Network Ltd, a networking organisation which has grown rapidly over the past few years. Partner and head of family and divorce,  Helen Lucking, and our Court of Protection Executive, Charlotte Rumsey rarely miss a SHOUT networking event, where presentations are given from a diverse range of businesses from across Lancashire.

Our head of real estate, James Allison, is an advocate and regular attendee of The Preston ‘First Thursday Club’, which is an informal networking event held at Stratos Bar located near our Preston office. HM Network Ltd also host an informal networking event, which is held every third Thursday of the month at FIVES bar in Preston.

Downtown in Business is another organisation Napthens supports through their Downtown in Lancashire network. The group organises the Lancashire Skills Summit at Preston College and also host a number of networking events which are always well attended by staff. Our Chairman, John Whittingslow, is a big supporter of the local rugby club, Preston Grasshoppers, and loves attending games when he can.

Our chosen local charity

Every year, staff nominate a charity that they wish to support locally. For 2019/20, our Preston office chose to support Derian House Children’s Hospice based in Chorley.

The hospice covers all of Lancashire and Cumbria and first opened its doors in 1993 with the ethos, “to ensure that the quality of life is enhanced for children and young people with life threatening conditions”. Derian House says that each child’s condition is different and how each family copes is different, everything is centered around the child’s and the families wishes.
