Wills and Will reviews
A Will is essential to provide for – and protect – your loved ones’ interests. A well drawn-up Will gives you peace of mind that your plans will be followed to the letter. With advice from estate planning professionals you can also ensure the Inheritance Tax burden on your family is minimised and that your wealth is used in the way you intended.

Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)
This document allows a legally appointed attorney to handle the affairs of an individual if they lose the mental capacity to do so themselves. This might include making decisions about property and finances, or health and welfare.

Court of Protection
If someone is unable to make their own decisions due to mental incapacity, a deputy can be given permission to do so for them. A Court of Protection order is only required if an LPA is not already in place.

Letter of Wishes
The purpose of this document is to guide an Executor, Trustee or Attorney with future decisions about an individual’s health, finances, property or, upon their death, their Estate. It can detail, for example, keepsakes a person would like to bestow, or how they feel about invasive health interventions.

Inheritance & Will Disputes
We provide an inheritance disputes service to help resolve disputes over inheritance when a loved one has died. Napthens is one of only a handful of solicitors in the North West with this specialism.

Your children or grandchildren might need financial help in the future, and guidance to manage their financial affairs. In this case, a Trustee or Trustees can be appointed to make certain decisions about how to use the Trust income and capital.
