We aim to be clear about the cost of our services and this will be discussed at our initial meeting. Any queries can be asked at any time during the process.

Summary of divorce costs

Initial consultation

The cost of this meeting is £300 (+ VAT) with Natalie Maher and £480 (+ VAT) if the meeting is with Helen Lucking or Sally Abrams.

All meetings will require the use of Thirdfort to verify your identity, which is £24.

We provide an initial fixed fee face-to-face consultation. This includes one hour of preliminary advice from one of our specialist family lawyers.

We will follow this up with a full advice note of the meeting, to enable a client to reflect on the information which we have given and to allow consideration on options going forward.

At that meeting we will also be able to give an indication of the likely future costs involved in your case.

Financial settlements, pensions and property

We charge for each of these services on a time spent basis. Each case concerning finances is very different and varies in levels of complexity.

What we do to help you file for divorce

• Prepare divorce application
• Prepare the application for a conditional order following receipt of the other party’s reply to the divorce application
• Forward the conditional order
• Apply for the final order and forwarding on to our client
• We keep all clients updated at each step

What if I am the respondent?

• Meeting to discuss the divorce application
• Completing the reply to the divorce application
• Notifying of the court date for pronouncement of the conditional order
• Forwarding the conditional order and final order

We will keep our clients informed of any potential additional costs before carrying out work so that they can make appropriate decisions.
