Summary
Shahida is an experienced estate planning solicitor who specialises in providing advice on wills and estate planning to individuals, business owners and former footballers. Shahida’s expertise assists clients to ensure their estates pass to their chosen beneficiaries while minimising tax, including inheritance tax as far as possible and preserving wealth for future generations. She also advises clients on preparing powers of attorney for personal and business affairs and has acted for deputies who are managing affairs on behalf of someone incapacitated by either mental or physical illness. Shahida also advises clients on estate administration issues and has experience with cross-border estates.
Shahida regularly works alongside financial advisors, accountants and wealth managers to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded approach to meet her clients’ aims.
Specialisms
Shahida has been a member of the North West panel for Camelot and advised lottery winners in relation to wills and estate planning in conjunction with local wealth managers. She has also been a contributor to the Institute of Directors, ICAEW, and Police Superintendents’ Association giving regular seminars on legal updates and current best practices.
Shahida is fluent in French and Gujerati.
Background
Shahida joined the Liverpool office of Napthens in 2020 following 8 years with Weightmans. She has worked for national commercial law firms throughout her career including Hill Dickinson and DWF and has practised wholly in the field of Private Client law in Liverpool since qualifying as a solicitor in 2002.
Shahida was born and brought up in Lancashire and attended Westholme School in Blackburn before reading Law at the University of Sheffield. As part of her undergraduate studies, Shahida studied at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands on the Erasmus student exchange programme. Shahida lives with her family in Liverpool.

Shahida is a full member of STEP and a member of Private Client Section. Shahida sits on the committee of the Professional Liverpool Private Client Specialist Group which aims to share professional knowledge and create stronger networks with industry within Liverpool and the wider Liverpool City region.

How do you like to relax out of work?
I love spending time with my two children whether we are cosy at home or out exploring. I have also recently started a couch to 5k app.
What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding?
Providing solutions and guiding clients through tricky periods in their life. Often clients approach me but can’t identify what they need to do amid their tangled personal circumstances, it is satisfying to discuss their concerns together and prepare a course of action.
What is your proudest achievement?
Apart from my children, one of my proudest achievements is trekking the Inca Trail and visiting Macchu Picchu. I was lucky enough to travel quite widely after university. As part of that, I also volunteered at a children’s orphanage in Vietnam.
If you had an alternative career – what would be your fantasy job?
A Blue Peter presenter. It looks so much fun and you get to do amazing experiences as part of your day job!
