Training contracts
Napthens is a forward-thinking Legal 500 law firm and we provide a number of training contracts every year to applicants who have completed the legal practice course (LPC) or its replacement the solicitors qualifying exam (SQE).
A solicitor training contract consists of a period of recognised training over two years, and throughout your training contract with us, we’ll constantly work with you to ensure your training experience fits in with your career objectives and interests.
The key aspect of any training contract with Napthens is our ability to provide bespoke elements to align with your wishes and objectives.
This includes:
- Direct access to clients
- Direct access to partners
- Multiple seats across different departments
- Variety of geographical locations to suit your needs, from big city to more rural offices
Each training contract at Napthens has placements covering six months seats (time spent in one department), usually between five different departments, based at Preston, Blackburn, Liverpool and Southport.
Our training contracts are predominantly within our commercial departments typically taking place across the following: corporate, employment, litigation, commercial property and family.
During a training contract each person will become a member of a tight knit community called Flourish and will be supported and mentored by other trainee solicitors and NQs in the firm.
Each trainee will gain invaluable hands-on experience in each of their seats, to include exposure on a variety of cases, client contact, learning from diverse and experienced lawyers with bespoke specialisms, and a great benefits package.
The next intake for trainees will be September 2026. Applications will open in 2025.
