Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to be supported, healthily challenged, championed and developed by a number of truly wonderful women, and a number of allies to this cause too. I have therefore made it my focus to do the same for others.
Inspiring inclusion, the campaign theme for International Women’s Day 2024, provides a focus on which we can build a better world for everyone, knowing the many strengths a female voice can provide to others, a benefit I have had, but unfortunately not everyone has access to.
Creating opportunities, cheerleading others, inspiring future generations and delivering on promises for equality across the legal sector, is what can truly provide positive change to the challenges we currently see and face in this space. Unfortunately, the wider macro factors affecting women in society need further work too and until these are addressed, women will continue to be placed at a disadvantage due to the inequitable balance they are faced with each day.
International Women’s Day is an opportunity to play our part in supporting the importance of inclusivity in the legal profession, and beyond.
