Proposed Changes to the Licensing Act 2003

The new Policing and Crime Bill has recently been presented to Parliament. A copy of the Bill can be seen here.

The proposed changes are at Part 7 of the Bill and would amend the Licensing Act 2003 as following:

Amend the definition of alcohol to include “in any state” to ensure that powered alcohol and vaporised alcohol are included.
Clarifying the position in relation to interim steps at summary review.

Licensing authorities will have the power to revoke or suspend personal licences when the holder is convicted of a relevant offence.In relation to personal licences, adding further relevant offences. To remove the need for Section 182 Guidance to be laid before Parliament before released.
