Meet the team: Steph Townson, Employment Relations Adviser

Steph has recently joined the Napthens’ Employment Department working in the People Projects Team. Due to the unprecedented times we find ourselves in we have done a Q & A with Steph so you can get to know her.

Please tell us a little more about your job at Napthens

I work within the Peoples Projects Team as an Employee Relations Advisor supporting clients with their employment relations matters such as grievances, redundancies and capability issues.

When did you join the company and what did you do before you joined Napthens?

I joined Napthens in October 2020 and before this role I worked as a HR Assistant for a hospitality company which has around 400 employees.

Who are you in lockdown with?

My husband Scott and our two daughter’s Keira age 8 and Holly age 5 who are now thankfully back at school.

What are your tips for keeping positive?

I think exercising has a powerful effect on your mood. Talking to your friends and family. Focusing on the positives rather than the negatives and keep smiling.

What comedy programmes have you been watching that make you laugh?

I love League of their Own and my eldest loves You’ve been Framed.

What have you learned whilst on lock down?

To be organised and to never take anything for granted.

What music are you listening to?

I like cheesy pop and Heart 80’s embarrassing I know, I blame my parents!

What do you miss most whilst being in lockdown?

Spending time with my children.

What exercise are you doing?

I love road cycling although not keen on the cold so am using our indoor smart trainer and the app Zwift.

What did you want to be when you were a kid?

A police officer which I achieved for 10 years before changing to HR.

Do you have a bucket list?

Sort of

Anything on it you would like to share with us?

I would like to cycle from Land’s End to John O’ Groats
