Meet the team - James Stocker

Napthens - May 9th 2017

I joined the Rural team in April 2015 as a trainee solicitor and have now completed my training contract and qualified into the rural team as a solicitor. I will predominantly be dealing with property transactions.

I spent the first year of my training in the rural team before moving over to the litigation department where I gained experience of dealing with matters such as land boundary disputes and adverse possessions of land. I then spent eight months working in the commercial property department where I gained experience of dealing with leases, licences and easements as well as working on option agreements and purchases of agricultural land by property developers.

When I’m not in the office there is a good chance you will find me in and among my poultry pens or building (yet another) pheasant aviary. I keep various breeds of chickens which I regularly show at the local shows. Last year was a particularly successful year when I took home the Best in Show trophy at Great Harwood Show and a couple of best of breed trophies from the Great Yorkshire Show and the Longridge District Fanciers Association Show. I also keep a variety of ornamental pheasants.

I am excited to have re-joined the rural team and am looking forward to working with our clients going forward.
