Phil is a member of our commercial team based in Preston and Kendal. He handles a wide range of commercial matters for clients, specialising in technology matters, but also covering the supply of goods and services more generally. In reviewing and drafting commercial contracts Phil advises clients not only on how to get those contracts in order but in how to plan ahead to meet future business needs. Having previously worked in-house and run his own business, Phil is able to offer pragmatic, practical advice to his clients.
Phil is particularly active in the manufacturing and technology sectors and regularly advises on cross-border transactions. Phil has advised on software platform launches and commercialisation, software licensing, outsourcing projects and platform and application development.
Phil is considered a specialist in data protection and cyber-security issues, he has presented at numerous events in Lancashire and Cumbria regarding the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Phil joined Napthens in January 2015 having previously worked both in private practice in Leeds and also in-house for a multi-national server-based gaming company in London. Phil qualified as a solicitor in 2004. He lives in Cumbria with his wife, two young children and a menagerie of animals.

Racing driver. Unfortunately a lack of talent ruled this out, although I do still enjoy going on track days when I can find the time.
