Keith Melling heads up Napthens' Corporate team. As a highly experienced, award winning corporate lawyer, Keith is a member of the Executive Board and brings commercial expertise in advising and working with businesses at board level. Keith has developed a high profile within the Lancashire and regional business community, handling a wide range of corporate and commercial work for clients including private equity backed and owner managed businesses, banks and financial institutions, individual shareholders, venture capitalists and management teams.
Keith is a highly regarded corporate lawyer and is ranked in legal services guide 'The Legal 500' as a leading individual. He has particular expertise in advising clients in the healthcare, motor retail, transport, manufacturing and financial services sectors. For a number of years Keith was also a member of Napthens' Executive Board, involved in directing the firm's business strategy.
Born and brought up in Preston, Keith joined Napthens in 2009. He previously worked at Addleshaw Goddard in Manchester for ten years, acting for clients such as United Utilities and PZ Cussons before he moved back to Preston in 2005. Keith lives in Mellor, just outside Blackburn. He was educated at Hutton Grammar School, read law at Durham University and is married with 2 young sons.

In 2012, Keith was delighted to be awarded Dealmaker of the Year at the prestigious Lancashire Dealmakers Awards – the first and last time the award has ever been given to a solicitor. Under his leadership the corporate team was also awarded ‘Law Firm of the Year’ for 2 years running. Keith was mentioned in the Chambers and Partners Guide 2015, citing that "he proved to be a match for larger firms with much larger resources."
Keith was named as a leading individual in Legal 500 2020.
