Jamie is the Head of Cumbria and Napthens’ Real Estate Group. Jamie is also involved in the further development and implementation of Napthens’ Cumbrian strategic plan as Head of Cumbria. He is responsible for managing teams in the department, including Commercial Property, Construction, Rural Business and Leisure & Licensing, ensuring the performance of the teams is in line with the firm’s strategy.

Prior to his current role, as an experienced litigator and more recently, a partner in the corporate team, Jamie has acted for many clients in the construction, licensed and brewing community, commercial and residential property investment, telecoms and manufacturing sectors.  Recommended in the 2020 'Legal 500' listings, he has strong relationships with corporate finance advisers, banks, fund managers and various private equity houses.  As previous head of Napthens’ Blackburn office, Jamie was successful in developing the profile of the firm within East Lancashire and has a high profile within the local business community including active and ongoing personal involvement in the charity Blackburn Youth Zone. Now he hopes to replicate those successes in driving the firm’s plan in Cumbria too with the assistance from other Partners in the firm.

Jamie joined Napthens in 2008 from Manchester law firm Pannone LLP, where he was a partner and Head of Entrepreneurial Services. At Pannone he was shortlisted as ‘Assistant Solicitor of the Year’ in ‘The Lawyer Awards’ in London, and was one of the youngest partners in the firm’s history.  His department was recognized as an ‘innovative provider of legal services’ by The Financial Times, and he has instilled this same ethos to his role at Napthens.

Jamie has previously been highlighted in Lancashire Business View, being described as ‘one of the most respected corporate lawyers in the region’ within the annual feature profiling the region’s ‘hottest young business talent.’ Jamie is also a Deputy Vice Chair of a large Academy and he sits on the Board of Marketing Lancashire too, supporting Ruth Connor and Tony Attard.

He is passionate about his roots and the Lancashire and Cumbrian marketplace and is committed to ensuring that business stays in these parts of the country for the benefit of the local community. He regularly supports local charities and he gives his free time up in various appointments to schools and other organisations.
