Summary
Helen is a partner in the Family department. Based in the Blackpool office, she deals with all areas of family, matrimonial law and children matters.
Helen advises on divorce and financial settlements, the breakdown of relationships, civil partnership dissolutions, and all aspects of children disputes including residence, contact and also care proceedings.
Specialisms
Helen has a special interest in children matters and regularly represents children in the family proceedings and county courts.
Background
Helen was born and brought up on the Fylde Coast. She was educated at Arnold School Blackpool and read Law at Nottingham University, before completing her legal training in Chester.
She joined Blackhursts Solicitors in Blackpool where she worked for nine years and developed her interest in family law. She then moved to Cuddy Woods and Cochrane in 2000, becoming a partner in 2005. She subsequently joined Napthens when the two firms merged in October 2007.
Helen is married and has a daughter. She lives on the Fylde.

What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding?
Helping clients to improve their family situation, and to watch them progress, often from an unhappy state to a more positive position.
How do you like to relax out of work?
I enjoy music - I sing in the Arnold School Choral Society and I also play the piano. My favourite song is “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. I also have a passion for shoes!
