Software Developer – IT – Preston

Full Time – 35 hours per week

We are looking for a Software Developer to join our growing IT Team! Working within the team, your role will be to support the growth and enhancement of our IT systems through development by implementing new software and further enhancing our existing software suite.  You will have the opportunity to bring new ideas to the table and build on your experiences whilst making a real difference!

Your role will include:-

  • Working with staff within the firm to design, specify, document and deliver workflows and development solutions
  • Being responsible for developing secure, robust, scalable technical products. Including testing and releasing of system changes from Test through to Production
  • Being responsible for communicating technical detail to non-technical team members and stakeholders
  • Being responsible for leading the delivery of development projects
  • Providing technical/case management support escalation from the service desk support
  • Maintaining a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles
  • Creation, testing and problem solving or workflows, data entry and retrieval screens
  • Designing case management workflows, reports and systems
  • Maintaining system data to ensure data is clean without duplicate information
  • Helping to maintain online systems to ensure clients are able to report and see the correct information
  • Liaising with 3rd parties to deal with code faults and technical escalation
  • Ensuring month end reports and routines run and are correct
  • Working with other IT specialists both internally and externally
  • Assisting with creating training manuals relating to the use of systems
  • Working with vendors to integrate legal tools and manage migrations
  • Supporting platform upgrades and change when required

You will have:-

  • Experience of dealing with Legal Case Management Applications within a Legal Industry
  • Experience with managing projects/deadlines
  • Stakeholder management – Liaising with clients (staff) on projects
  • Troubleshooting
  • Relevant experience with Databases and legal report generation
  • Logical thought process
  • Understanding of conditional logic structures
  • Ability to think and provide solutions under pressure
  • Eye for detail to ensure information is correct and writing detailed test routines
  • Good organisational and administration skills
  • Excellent telephone manner and face-to-face communication skills
  • Full understanding of Release Management and working in a controlled project environment
  • Ability to work efficiently and communicate ideas within a small development team

Having knowledge and experience of Power BI, Office 365, BigHand, iManage and Proclaim would be advantageous but not essential
