Legal Assistant – Wills and Estate Planning – Preston

Full time

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Legal Assistant to join our Wills and Estate Planning Department. Working closely with our Wills Team, this is a proactive role which involves moving the clients’ matters forwards and being able to communicate compassionately, confidently and professionally with all of the parties involved.  It can often be the case that documents need to be prepared with a quick turnaround and all efforts must be made to work to tight timescales, where required.

Your role will include:-

  • Liaising with and updating clients, third parties and lawyers in order to actively progress the matter;
  • Dealing with a range of administrative tasks in a pro active manner, including diary management, arranging client meetings, processing invoices and assisting with general file management;
  • Attending meetings to witness documents being signed (including home visits, where required);
  • Ensuring fully executed documents are recorded and updated to all relevant databases;
  • Providing assistance to the team as and when required to ensure all matters continue to progress in a timely fashion.

  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Effective time management skills
  • Proven experience of operating at this level previously
  • Proven experience of working with a case management system
  • Good working knowledge of relevant area of law
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Proven experience in relevant area of law
  • 12 months experience in a legal assistant or comparable role
