A guide to keeping a drug free pub

Napthens - July 25th 2017

The British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) has issued new advice on how pubs can tackle drug use.

The guidance is basic, but it does serve as a timely reminder that this is an issue which will affect most licensed premises (albeit to a varying degree) and that operators do have obligations to fulfill.

The guide can be found here, and refers to the introduction of the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016, explains the offences surrounding legal highs and also provides advice on door searches and how to seize and store drugs.

If you would like any further information or advice on this matter, then please get in touch with a member of the Licensing team.
