Cask Ale Week 2013
The usual reminder that this year’s Cask Ale Week is now approaching, providing a great opportunity for licensees to increase footfall and drive sales.
With the strap-line “only in Britain, only in pubs”, Cask Ale Week highlights the fact that cask ale provides a unique selling point for the on-trade since customers cannot get it at home. The theme for this year is “introduce a friend” which it is hoped will encourage more people to try cask ale for the first time.
Cask Ale Week 2013 will run from Friday 27 September to Sunday 6 October and details on how to get involved can be found at www.caskaleweek.co.uk.
For those of you with an interest in cask ale, there is also another event on the horizon. SIBA’s North West Beer Competition and Festival will take place at a new venue this year: the Beer Hall at Hawkshead Brewery in Staveley.
Napthens have once again been heavily involved in the organisation of the event and it will be a great showcase for real ale with over 200 beers available at the same time. The event will take place from Thursday 24 to Saturday 26 October and more details can be found at SIBA.
