British Summer Time is almost here...
We are finally nearing the official start of British Summer Time and therefore the inevitable changing of the clocks.
On 30 March 2014 at 1.00am (i.e. the Saturday night / Sunday morning) British Summer Time (BST) commences which means that 1.00am automatically becomes 2.00am. You will not be affected if you do not trade beyond 1.00am or if you have a provision on your premises licence providing for an additional hour of trade on the commencement of BST - but if neither apply then you will effectively lose an hour's trade.
If you wish to submit a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) to cover you for that hour of trade then your TEN must be received by the Council by 14 March 2014 at the latest. If a TEN is submitted after that date then you will need to rely on the less favourable “short notice” TEN.
