Shelby is a solicitor in the wills, trusts and probate team and joined Napthens in March 2025, having trained with a city centre law firm in Manchester.
She has gained considerable experience in wills, probate matters, trust structures, multi-jurisdictional estates, estate planning and inheritance tax (IHT) mitigation.
Shelby studied at Newcastle University and achieved a first-class degree in Law in 2016, and also achieved a distinction in her legal practice course (LPC) with masters in 2021.
Experience
Shelby has experience in assisting clients with a number of private client matters including:
- Advising clients in relation to their estate planning requirements and inheritance tax mitigation options
- Dealing with probate matters where an individual has passed away either with or without making a valid will (for both non-taxable and taxable estates, as well as multi-jurisdictional estates)
- Establishing and administering trusts
- Preparing lasting powers of attorney and advising attorneys in relation to their duties
- Preparing wills (whether that be simple wills or wills incorporating trust structures for estate preservation and/or tax mitigation purposes)
