Kate Seymour
Legal DirectorKate Seymour is a legal director within the rural team, based in the firm's Kendal office.
Kate has considerable experience in the rural and commercial property sectors, having qualified in 1999.
She has lived and worked in Cumbria since 2005 and acts for individuals, charities, landed estates and corporate clients in the full range of property and business matters such as agricultural, commercial and residential tenancy matters, land and property sales and purchases.
Kate also has considerable experience in lending matters, surrender of tenancies, clawback and option agreements and other farm estate management issues.
Experience
Recent cases include:
– acting on the sale of one of the biggest country house sales outside of London for circa £16m.
– acting for a conservation charity on the purchase of a number of substantial estates across England (agricultural, commercial and residential mix) comprising in total approximately 3,300 acres of land
– acting for a number of landowners in the grant of both farm business and AHA succession tenancies
– acting for a number of national energy companies to facilitate vacant possession for development by way of complicated surrenders of agricultural tenancies
