Emma is a legal director in the employment team and provides straightforward, honest and practical advice to business owners, directors, managers and HR professionals on a variety of employment law issues.
She is experienced in dealing with disciplinary and grievance matters, discrimination issues, absence management, performance management, negotiated exits, restructures and redundancy processes – including complex collective redundancies.
Emma also drafts and negotiates bespoke contracts of employment, directors service agreements, policies, procedures, settlement agreements and TUPE provisions in outsourcing contracts.
Utilising her experience of working as an in-house lawyer and within a law firm, Emma regularly collaborates with the corporate team, Emma advises clients on the employment-related aspects of corporate transactions.
Experience
Emma has particular experience in the IT, telecoms and engineering sectors, although has worked with organisations across a range of industries.
Having worked as an in-house lawyer, where she worked closely with HR, legal teams and directors, predominantly on TUPE and complex employee relations, Emma understands how businesses work ‘on the inside’ and adopts a commercially focused, outcome-driven approach to providing advice.
