‘Top Tier’ result for Napthens in Legal 500

A range of departments from law firm Napthens have been highlighted by ‘industry bible’ Legal 500 for the quality of advice given to clients.

The Corporate and Commercial, Licensing, Commercial Litigation, Employment, Rural, Commercial Property and Construction teams have all been ranked in the guide, which surveys clients of law firms across the world to produce industry-recognised league tables.

Napthens has one of the strongest showings in the North West compared to local rivals.

Among the top tiers – those departments highlighted as being among the best in the business – is Napthens’ Corporate and Commercial team, described by the guide as a ‘strong’ department with partners Rob Dobson and Richard Robinson singled out.

The Commercial Litigation and Commercial Property teams also make it into the top tiers, with the Litigation department led by Iain Wharton, described as ‘outstanding’ with partner Robert Richards recommended; and the Commercial Property team is praised for its ‘personal contact’ with clients.

Meanwhile, the Leisure and Licensing team is described as ‘timely and pragmatic’ led by the ‘knowledgeable and proactive’ Malcolm Ireland, and is singled out for its work in the brewery sector.

Napthens’ Rural department appears in the rankings, while the Employment team is described as ‘innovative, delivering pragmatic and comprehensive advice’ and the Construction team as ‘extremely professional,’ led by the ‘commercially aware’ Tricia Morrison.

John Whittingslow, chief executive of Napthens, said: “We have outshone many of our rivals in the region with the number of departments highlighted in the guide’s top tiers, and those teams and individuals praised for the quality of their work.

“The Legal 500 is a highly respected guide, and one which goes to great lengths to find out from clients what they really think of the work being done by law firms across the globe.

“This is just further evidence of the quality of work being done in the region outside the big cities, and all our staff should be justifiably proud of these results.”
