Thousands raised for charity by Napthens

North West law firm Napthens has handed over more than £7,000 to good causes after a year of fundraising events.

Each financial year the firm’s various offices select a chosen charity to support, and during the year April 2015 to March 2016, raised a total of just over £7,700 for three good causes.

The firm’s East Lancashire office supported the Blackburn Youth Zone, a charity which works to change the prospects of children in the area. Staff raised more than £1,500 through activities including dress down days, a quiz, raffles and soup sale. In addition the firm sponsored events such as a clay shooting day for businesses which raised £6,000.

In Preston, staff took part in fundraising events including a 10k run and 100km cycle ride through London, to raise almost £3,900 for the North West Air Ambulance.

The Blackpool & Fylde team raised funds for Aspired Futures, which provides long-term, life-changing therapeutic services for vulnerable children and young people. In total, almost £2,300 was raised through activities including a cook-off.

Chris Boyle, partner at Napthens, said: “We’re very proud of our links with our local communities and the passionate support our staff show to our chosen charities each year.

“Our staff have worked hard and with the support of clients and professional contacts we’ve hit a fantastic total for the year which should really help to make a difference. For the year ahead staff have chosen to continue supporting these same charities, with our Cumbria offices supporting the Cumbria Community Foundation.”
