A company which specialises in developing software for the food industry has been acquired by a US owned multi-national group.
Format Solutions Ltd and its subsidiary, Format International Ltd, based in Woking, Surrey, have been acquired by Cargill PLC for an undisclosed sum.
Format International is an independent company specialising in the design, authoring and marketing of software solutions for the food industry including human food, animal, pet and aqua food.
Founded in 1980, the company now delivers software solutions to more than 5,000 licensed users in almost 100 countries worldwide. It has 15 highly-skilled employees.
Merryl Webster, managing director of Format International, was advised by a team from Lancashire and Cumbria-based law firm Napthens solicitors including Keith Melling, partner and head of the firm’s Commercial division, IT specialist solicitor Phil Brown, Corporate trainee Roshni Valibhai, Employment partner Kimberley Barratt-St.Vall and wealth management expert, David Hardman.
