New jobs created in Blackpool hotel expansion

Licensing experts at Napthens solicitors have advised the owners of a Blackpool guest house on a £20,000 refurbishment project set to create new jobs for the town.

The North Parade Guest House, Dickson Road, which operates 28 bedrooms, is to overhaul the ground floor turning it into a bar offering food all day with entertainment at weekends.

Owner Patrick Buckley is investing £20,000 in the work, which will create six new jobs for kitchen and bar staff. The new facility will be called Casey’s Bar.

Malcolm Ireland, head of Leisure & Licensing at Napthens solicitors, advised Mr Buckley on the licensing allowing him to offer food, alcohol and entertainment.

Malcolm said: “This is a serious investment by Mr Buckley who is committed to developing his business and creating new jobs.

“It’s a tough time for many in the hotel trade, and it’s great to see a successful business planning for the future like this.”

Patrick Buckley said: “Traditionally we have operated only as a hotel, and the time had come to invest in the business.

“I’m determined to create a hotel that will offer its customers the best possible service, and it was a natural step to begin to offer food, drink and entertainment.”
