Regional law firm Napthens solicitors has signed up Kendal-based Sam Sykes Ltd as a client.
Sam Sykes is one of the world’s leading providers of Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) expedition services, and was founded in 2009.
Now employing around 50 staff, the business – founded by entrepreneur Sam Sykes – delivers professionally-led DofE award expeditions across the UK and overseas, providing both practical and legislative knowledge. It is fully licensed and approved by the Adventures Activities Licensing Authority.
The business has now been signed up as a client of Napthens’ HR3 service, a specialist fixed-fee service designed to offer businesses a full range of employment law and HR advice.
Chris Boyle, head of HR & Employment at Napthens, which operates from an office in Kendal, said: “Sam has built a renowned business over almost 10 years, and we are looking forward to working with him and the team and enable him to focus on building the business, knowing that many of the legal and HR issues he might face as a business owner are taken care of.”
Sam Sykes, who built the business from initially operating in a small second-hand van to its current size, works with schools and organisations globally to offer expedition services.
He added: “Chris and the team from Napthens will advise on all employment legal and HR matters from keeping staff contracts current and concise to helping with unexpected issues as they come up.
“We’re confident a service like HR3 will allow us the freedom to focus on building the business in the knowledge that such important issues are under control.”
