Napthens named most active M&A legal adviser for 2025 in the north west

Napthens has been recognised as the most active legal adviser in the North West for 2025, topping Experian MarketIQ’s annual M&A review with 54 completed transactions.
Experian’s 2025 review shows the North West recorded 930 deals amid tough macro conditions, with overall deal value exceeding £11bn, supported by a small number of large transactions.
Against that backdrop, Napthens led on deal count in the Experian legal adviser tables, underlining our depth in the SME and midmarket segments. Highlights across the year included the sale of Heritage Envelopes to The Encore Group; HE Simm’s disposal of HESIS to Andwis Group; and the sale of Enviroguard Holdings Limited.
Keith Melling, Partner and Head of Corporate at Napthens, said:
“Becoming the region’s most active legal adviser for 2025 is great recognition for our clients and our team.
We’ve invested in experienced, hands-on deal lawyers across the North West and focused on pragmatic execution – helping owner-managers, PE-backed platforms and corporates get deals over the line in fast-moving conditions.
Looking ahead, we expect confidence to keep building as inflationary pressure eases and boards press ahead with strategic transactions.”
