Update: Napthens recognised as the most active M&A corporate law firm for the whole of 2025 across the north west region.

Napthens continues to be the UK’s leading legal advisers on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the UK in the north west region during the first six months of 2025.

The data from Experian Market IQ shows the firm remains the most active in the region, with the corporate team transacting the completion of an impressive 21 deals, which is 10% more than the same period in 2024.

While we remain number one in the north west, we’re also in the top 20 across the whole of the UK.

This includes support on the sale of Heritage Envelopes Limited in Blackburn to The Encore Group (Envelopes and Packaging) Limited, the sale of Strands and Screes Hotel and Brewery in Cumbria and sale of Liverpool based HESIS Limited to the Andwis Group.

Keith Melling, partner and head of corporate, said: “I am so proud to see yet another strong and successful half year, reinforcing Napthens position as a strong supporter of businesses and deals across the north west.

“We established ourselves in the top 20 across the UK in the first quarter of this year, and it’s extremely satisfying to see us remain there in what is a very competitive market.

“In the second half of the year we’re expecting to continue seeing a higher volume of deals, as the impact of recent and possible further tax changes is likely to accelerate business decisions.

“We’re seeing the fruits of our investment over recent years in an exceptionally talented team with a common goal to provide first rate service on all aspects of M&A, both buy side and sell side, and put the client at the heart of everything we do.

“I am confident that we will continue to be one of the most active advisers in the region in the second half of 2025 offering best in class legal support to help our clients achieve their goals.”
