Napthens launches first ESG Report, reinforcing commitment to responsible business

Napthens Group has published its inaugural Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, marking a significant milestone in its journey toward sustainable and responsible business practices.

Covering the 2024/25 financial year, the report sets a clear baseline for Napthens’ sustainability performance across its regional offices and operations. It highlights the firm’s dedication to environmental responsibility, social impact, and ethical governance, aligning with its core values of collaboration, excellence, and understanding.

“Our first sustainability report marks an important step in our journey toward greater environmental responsibility, social impact and ethical governance,” said Stephen Faulkner, Managing Director of Napthens. “We believe that everyone in our firm should have a genuine sense of belonging and opportunity to thrive, and we recognise our broader responsibility to reduce our environmental impact, support our communities and ensure transparency and accountability in everything we do.”

Key Highlights from the ESG Report:

  • Alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the LSA ESG Framework
  • Detailed materiality assessment, stakeholder engagement, and ESG prioritisation criteria
  • Overview of Napthens’ environmental footprint, social initiatives, and governance practices

Building on a Strong Foundation

While this marks the beginning of a formalised ESG journey, Napthens has already made meaningful progress. Initiatives such as the #OpeningDoors outreach programme, inclusive recruitment practices, and partnerships with organisations like the NSPCC demonstrate the firm’s commitment to social equity, environmental awareness, and ethical leadership.

Employee-led EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) committees further reinforce Napthens’ culture of belonging and accountability.

Why This Matters

Publishing an ESG report not only enhances transparency but also strengthens Napthens’ position as a responsible business leader in the legal and professional services sector. It provides stakeholders with a clear view of the firm’s sustainability goals and progress, while laying the groundwork for future improvements.
