Major refurbishment for popular hotel

A Blackpool town centre hotel is to benefit from an investment of more than £70,000 after it was taken over by new owners.

The New Valron, on Trafalgar Road, South Shore, was recently acquired by Robbie Dick, a former Sussex farmer who also operates a contract cleaning company.

Robbie has now completed phase one of a major refurbishment programme which has included a refit of the hotel’s public spaces – the bar, lounge, dining room and hallways have all been overhauled.

Phase two of the work will see the hotel’s 21 bedrooms redecorated in future months.

Robbie was advised on the purchase of the hotel by Craig Aikman, solicitor in the Commercial Property team at Napthens’ Blackpool office.

Craig said: “It’s great to see this level of investment taking place in the leisure sector in Blackpool. A well run, friendly hotel can still do very well in a busy marketplace and Robbie is committed to providing the best level of service he possibly can.”

Robbie added: “Since we took over the hotel we’ve made a major investment into bringing everything up-to-date and really focussing on customers and their enjoyment of the venue.

“Everything customers will see has been upgraded, in some cases walls have been taken back to the brick. It’s already a popular hotel with a good reputation and I’m confident this investment will help secure a healthy future for us.”
