Legal eagles gear up to run 300km for charity

A team of staff from a Lancashire law firm is set to run 300km between them to raise money for a local good cause.

In total, 30 staff from the offices of Napthens solicitors will take part in the Stanley Park 10km Road Race on March 1 in Blackpool.

The race, organised by the Fylde Coast Running organisation, starts at the Sports Arena in Stanley Park, before taking in the scenic roads around the park itself.

Participants have been collecting sponsorship to generate funds for St Catherine’s Hospice, a Preston-based charity providing specialist palliative care and support for people with incurable medical conditions.

The firm’s participants include experienced runners and those taking part in such an event for the first time.

Team organiser Simon Ainsworth, head of the firm’s private client division, said: “We’ve had a great response from staff across Napthens who jumped at the chance to get fit and raise money for a very worthy cause.

“Everyone has been very enthusiastic and taking part in training sessions after work to make sure we’re all prepared.

“We’re proud to support St Catherine’s and hope to raise lots of money to help with the incredible work the charity does.”
