Three partners from Napthens solicitors have helped raise more than £3,000 for charity by taking part in a painful challenge.
The trio of, Oliver McCann, Employment & HR partner and head of the East Lancashire office, Malcolm Ireland, partner and head of Licensing & Leisure and David Bailey, Commercial Property Litigation partner, agreed to take part in a silent leg wax.
The event was held to raise funds for Napthens’ chosen charities for the year, the North West Air Ambulance, Blackburn Youth Zone, and Blackpool children’s charity Aspired Futures.
Taking place in front of an audience at Napthens’ annual staff summer party, and assisted by Abi and Clare from Langho-based Bamboo beauty salon, the leg wax has so far raised a grand total of £3,204.
Oliver McCann said: “This was for a great cause and when the challenge was suggested by the staff at Napthens we were a little nervous but keen to take part. Napthens supports a number of charities throughout the year, all of which do fantastic work so it was all worthwhile!
“We’d like to thank everyone who donated and made this challenge such a success.”
The North West Air Ambulance operates three helicopters, flying doctors and paramedics 365 days a year to provide emergency medical treatment across the region.
Blackburn Youth Zone is a state-of-the-art youth club facility for young people aged eight to 18, working to change the prospects of children in the area.
Blackpool-based Aspired Futures offers long-term, bespoke therapeutic support packages to the most vulnerable children and young people across Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre.
Recently Napthens announced it had raised more than £7,000 for good causes during the year April 2015 to March 2016.
