Jamie Allison continues to support Cumbria Tourism

Partner and head of real estate, Jamie Allison, has been reappointed as a non-executive director of Cumbria Tourism’s executive board.
This will be the fifth consecutive year that Jamie has represented the professional services sector on the board, which provides strategic support to maximise the reputation of the Lake District, Cumbria and support member businesses.
Jamie will play a part in ensuring the board continues to reflect every corner of the visitor economy in the region, while guiding Cumbria Tourism’s work as the county’s official Local Visitor Economy Partnership.
He said: “Having been part of the board since 2019, I have directly seen how the board provides positive impact to the businesses and communities are at the heart of the county’s £4.1billion visitor economy.
“By working together as a board and with the people who work for Cumbria Tourism, we have supported investment in creating a sustainable tourism product, boosting visitor numbers and increasing the reputation of, and economic value to, the county as an all-year-round destination.
“Cumbria Tourism is the largest membership organisation in Cumbria, representing 4,500 member businesses and it’s imperative we continue to support them by growing staying visitors, increasing the length of stays and increasing visitor spend.
“Bear in mind too that Cumbria Tourism is majoratively privately funded too but its relations with the civic partners in Cumberland and Westmorland & Furness are critical and mutually fruitful.
“These businesses are the lifeblood of the communities that make up this amazing region, and we must continue to support them to prosper in light of the ongoing pressures that everyone faces.
“The environment, culture and way of life are fundamental to the success of tourism and the wellbeing of the people who live here.
“As part of the refreshed board, with some great new face, skills and experience, I’m looking forward to providing further guidance to ensure people, businesses and communities, in the leisure sector, who call Cumbria home, continue to flourish.”
