High profile corporate lawyer joins Napthens

Leading regional corporate lawyer Gareth McIntegart has joined expanding North West law firm Napthens.

Previously, Gareth was a partner at DLA Piper where he led the firm’s corporate team in Liverpool for three years. He also spent 15 years at law firm DWF, whilst his early career saw him work as an in-house lawyer with BAE Systems.

Gareth joins the Napthens’ Corporate team and will use his 20 years’ experience in the Liverpool and wider North West markets to offer specialist advice to the firm’s existing clients and to further promote and develop the services of the firm, particularly across the Southport and Merseyside region where he is a well-known and respected member of the professional and financial services community.

Recognised as an expert in his field, Gareth specialises in corporate finance work including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and private equity. He also has particular experience in the telecoms, transport and logistics and manufacturing sectors, acting for both large privately owned companies and entrepreneurial, owner-managed businesses.

As well as his role with Napthens, Gareth will also work more closely with longstanding Chorley-based client, Plc where, as Legal Counsel, he will provide strategic advice to the Elite board on M&A and corporate related matters.

The news comes soon after Napthens announced the opening of its Southport office, following the acquisition of Richard Jacklin & Co.

Gareth said: “Napthens has a strong reputation in the region and I’m excited to be joining at a time when the firm is expanding, with its recently opened office in Kendal and now with Southport, a foothold into the Merseyside market.

“This increased geographic reach will be a real benefit to the firm and is an indication of Napthens’ commitment to the region.”

Keith Melling, Head of Napthens’ Commercial Division said: “The Southport and Merseyside region presents some major opportunities to us as a firm, and it’s great to have Gareth on board. Following on from the appointment of Richard Robinson three years ago, Gareth’s arrival demonstrates that Napthens continues to attract some of the best corporate talent to service an expanding client base across the North West.

“His reputation in the area is second-to-none and his wealth of experience is a clear sign to our clients that we continue to put them first, offering the best possible advice and levels of service.”
