Epic charity ride for Blackburn fundraisers

Staff from Lancashire law firm Napthens are to cycle nearly 300 miles to raise funds for a fantastic Blackburn charity.

James Allison and Richard Robinson, Corporate partners at Napthens solicitors’ East Lancashire office in Blackburn, will cycle from London to Paris in July.

They will be joined by local professional contacts Phil Brown, director at Audas Project Management, and Tony Brierley, managing director of PM&M Wealth Management.

The group will carry out the challenge to raise money for local good cause Blackburn Youth Zone.

The challenge comes as Napthens reveals it has so far handed over close to £3,000, in 12 months, to Youth Zone, a state-of-the-art youth club facility in the town, supporting young people aged 8-18 years old.

The law firm’s office in Blackburn has committed to support the charity for a minimum of three years. Over the last 12 months staff have carried out a range of fundraising activities from a record-breaking continuous game of football to fire walking, ‘soup-offs’ and ‘cake-off’ competitions held in the firm’s offices.

James Allison, head of Napthens’ East Lancashire office, said: “Our commitment to Blackburn Youth Zone is not just about raising money but about getting involved in the charity and supporting it in any and every way we possibly can. They are a great team of people who we truly value and wish to support

“It’s also been a great way of bringing the team together here too and having some fun while continuing to raise funds for this great cause.”

Peter Little, chief executive of Blackburn Youth Zone, said: “Napthens has really got behind our charity, their commitment and goodwill towards us has been remarkable. So many members of staff, at all levels of the company, have been involved in supporting us in some way which is fantastic.

“I’m sure Napthens will inspire other local businesses to back our charity which is doing great things for young people in our community. A very big thank you to everyone at Napthens from all of us at the Youth Zone.”
