Connecting North West business to relevant training, insight, conversation and each other

East Lancs Employment team grows

Businesses in East Lancashire have access to an expanded service at Napthens solicitors as two experts join the Employment & HR team at the firm.

Julie Duane and Katy Parkinson have boosted the ranks at the firm’s Blackburn office. Prior to joining Napthens, Julie trained as a barrister and was an in-house advocate specialising in employment issues, with North West firm Simpsons solicitors.

A well-known employment expert, she has been guest speaker at events including the Liverpool Women’s Conference.

As an employment law advocate at Napthens she will advise employers on key issues facing businesses including dismissals, redundancy and discrimination. She has particular expertise in sectors including retail, care, and education.

Katy, who qualified as a solicitor in 2015, will work with employers to assist on topics including employment contracts, disciplinary and grievance issues.

Oliver McCann, Employment partner and head of the Blackburn office, said: “The employment team has grown significantly in recent years and the appointment of Julie and Katy in Blackburn signals our commitment to the East Lancashire market.”

The pair are the latest to join the East Lancashire Employment & HR team after the appointment earlier this year of solicitor Carley Kerrs-Walton.
