Connecting North West business to relevant training, insight, conversation and each other

Adam McCabe – June Summary

I recently  competed with my partner, Welshman Lee Rooke in the PGA national fourball qualifier for the PGA north region with the aim of qualifying for the final at Carden Park later in the summer.

We played steady all day and were 3 under par going down the last hole. Needing a par to win and with my partner in trouble, I managed to make a pressurised 10 foot par-putt to get us into a playoff for the final qualifying spot.

Unfortunately the playoff involved 12 teams (24 players) for only one place and we didn’t qualify. However, it was invaluable experience to play in such a pressure situation and we are now on the reserve list and hope to still get in to the event if there are any withdrawals.

I have a very busy schedule over the next 2 months, including pro-ams with Napthens teams at Hillside, Delamere forest, and the Lancashire open pro-am at Blackpool North Shore, so we are looking forward to playing on some of the regions finest golf courses.

I also have 2 PGA north region majors still to come this season, the Leeds cup at Oulton Hall (the worlds oldest professional tournament) and the Lancashire open at Blackpool North Shore. I am working hard with my swing coach Peter Barber and my mental performance coach Andy Morrison to give myself the best chance of a strong finish to the regular season.
