The menopause may still be a taboo topic but employers are now realising the potential impact of the menopause in the workplace.
Never before has transitioning through menopause been more demanding, with women working longer into their careers. Menopause can be a risk factor for burnout, so it’s essential to have a better understanding of this significant life stage that will affect every woman you know. Meanwhile 52% of menopausal women have stated their employer knows nothing/very little about the mental or emotional effects of the menopause.
In this 1 hour session we’ve teamed up with Lesley Salem of Over The Bloody Moon for an interactive, educational workshop to help HR professionals understand the menopause and how it may impact people transitioning – and those around them. We’ll look at:
- Why is the menopause an important topic to invest in?
- Identifying the different stages of menopause
- What other employers are doing to support colleagues
- Feel equipped to be more empathetic and to talk about menopause
- Tips on how to get started
- Plus hear from our employment law partner Claire Haworth who will discuss the menopause as a possible disability and the obligation to make reasonable adjustment
Lesley Salem is a certified menopause health coach and podcast host of The Change Makers.
