Summary

Rachel is a legal director within our specialist commercial team based in Preston. She advises clients on a wide range of general commercial matters including commercial agreements and regulatory matters with a particular focus on data protection and the GDPR.
Rachel's approach is both practical and highly commercial, using experience gained in-house at a multi national travel company, where she advised the business on commercial agreements and relationships and led General Data Protection Regulation compliance for the group.

Rachel is recommended in the latest rankings of the industry bible, the Legal 500.

Specialisms

Rachel advises on a wide variety of commercial agreements including terms and conditions for the sale and purchase of goods and services, outsourcing arrangements, IT related contracts, privacy notices, marketing consents and data processing agreements. She has particular experience of the travel and tourism industry and the financial services sector.

Background

Rachel joined Napthens in 2018 after nearly 5 years in house with Diamond Resorts, one of the world’s leading resort development companies. Prior to this she practised in the Caribbean island of Anguilla acting for a variety of national and international clients, with a particular focus on tourism related issues. Rachel trained and qualified at Addleshaw Goddard in Manchester and before her career in law worked for several years in procurement in the financial services sector.

How do you like to relax out of work?
Hiking up hills, swimming in lakes or the sea, reading, planting things in the garden and watching them grow.

What 3 items would you take with you on a desert island?
Having lived on a desert island (more or less) I have the answer to this very clear in my mind: A bar, some friends and plenty of books.

What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding?
I enjoy working with great people to get the job done and the fact that there’s always something new to think about.

If you had an alternative career – what would be your fantasy job?
International adventurer and travel writer.
