Summary
Simon is a solicitor in the commercial property department. He deals with many aspects of commercial property including landlord and tenant issues, development set-up, estate matters and acquisitions and disposals of real estate (freehold and leasehold and sale and lease backs) and other assets (including boats and yachts). He also advises on matters of adverse possession and acquired rights over land and property. He deals with funding and borrowing by way of security on real estate and other assets (including Amanah and Marine finance) as well as providing corporate support.
Specialisms
Simon acts for a wide range of clients including high profile individuals and national companies, retailers, investors, developers, financial institutions, pension companies and trusts, public sector, educational institutions, estates owners and sporting and leisure organisations and clubs.
In addition, Simon advises charitable organisations and trusts on property matters, Land Registry, Charities Act and Charity Commission compliance matters. He has particular expertise in landlord and tenant matters and acts for both landlords and tenants.
Background
Simon joined Napthens in March 2005 as a Trainee, completing seats in corporate and commercial litigation and qualified into commercial property in 2007. He graduated from the University of Stirling with B.A Honours in Business Law and Marketing and completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester. Simon lives just outside Clitheroe in the Ribble Valley.
