Summary
Melissa is a solicitor in the rural department and acts on a range of issues including land registration, granting and surrendering of easements, purchases and sales, possession claims and rights of way. Melissa qualified in 2011, and is already working on deals with a seven-figure value.
Melissa joined Napthens in 2009 as a trainee. During her training contract, Melissa gained a broad range of knowledge and experience, including time spent with the Wills & Estate Planning and Litigation departments.
Background
Prior to joining Napthens, Melissa read Law at the University of Leeds and completed the Legal Practice Course at Manchester BPP Law School. Melissa grew up on a dairy farm, where she still lives, and is a long standing member of Burton in Lonsdale Young Farmers Club.

What is your proudest achievement?
My proudest achievement was reaching the summit of Helvellyn with my heavy rucksack on the second day of my Gold Duke of Edinburgh expedition – my second proudest achievement being completing the full four day, 50 mile expedition!
Name your favourite film
I am a massive fan of James Bond films and I could watch them over and over again.
What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding?
The most rewarding aspect of my job is knowing that you have been able to help someone else with a difficult situation.
