Summary
Lucy is a solicitor in the commercial property team. She has experience of acting for both landlords and tenants, along with property investors and developers on high value transactions, and has acted for a number of insolvency practitioners. Lucy has also advised on corporate transactions with a property element. She deals with matters including negotiating and drafting detailed agreements for leases, and leases and agreements for sale in relation to various transactions. She has detailed understanding of the procedures for sale of freehold property that is subject to leases with tenants pre-emption rights, and has drafted and served relevant notices on all tenants to comply with the statutory procedure. Lucy deals with a wide variety of property issues including overage agreements, easements, lease variations and surrenders.
Specialisms
Lucy is also very familiar dealing with ‘distressed property’ when acting for either an Administrator, LPA Receiver or Mortgagee and dealing with the specific problems that arise when dealing with insolvency situations including the drafting of specific sale or lease documentation.
Background
Lucy joined Napthens in 2010 from Manchester firm Nexus Solicitors where she finished her training contract and qualified as a solicitor in 2007. Previously she had commenced her training with Bolton based firm, Keoghs. After growing up on the Fylde Coast, Lucy now lives in Cottam, just outside Preston. She was educated at Kirkham Grammar School and read law at the University of Leicester, before returning to the region to carry out her post-graduate studies at the University of Central Lancashire.
