Summary
Lisa acts for commercial clients from individuals to SME's and PLC's on a wide range of commercial disputes in both the County Court and High Court including contractual disputes, partnership and shareholder disputes, professional negligence and construction and engineering disputes.
Lisa understands the importance of early settlement and the benefits of Alternative Dispute Resolution and has mediatation and adjudication experience. She is also able to provide pre-emptive advice to prevent lengthy and costly litigation.
Specialisms
Lisa has particular expertise in commercial contract claims and also acts for private clients in Contentious Probate disputes, involving challenges to Wills on the basis of capacity and undue influence as well as Court of Protection applications with respect to the appointment of deputies.
Lisa also has experience assisting clients with applications for Personal and Premises Licences including variations and appeals under the Licensing Act 2003.
Background
Lisa obtained her degree and Legal Practice Course at Sheffield University and completed her training contract at Brabners Chaffe Street in Preston. In 2006 she moved to Hillyer McKeown in Chester were she went from Solicitor to Head of Commercial Litigation and an Associate within the firm.
Lisa joined Napthens in May 2011 and in doing so has returned home to Preston where she was born and raised.

If you had an alternative career – what would be your fantasy job?
Whilst I do actually enjoy litigation, If I wasn’t a lawyer I would be a wedding and party planner which would put my organisational skills to good use!
