Summary
Keith Melling heads up the Napthens’ corporate team and handles a wide range of corporate and commercial work including company/business acquisitions and disposals; equity fundraisings and investments; mergers, re-organisations and restructurings; joint ventures and start ups; debt financings and partnerships and LLP work.
Specialisms
Keith has particular experience in the transport, automotive and manufacturing industries as well as having advised on deals in the leisure and financial services sectors. He acts for a range of clients including public companies, owner managed businesses, banks and financial institutions, individual shareholders, venture capitalists and management teams.
Background
Born and brought up in Preston, Keith joined Napthens in 2009. He previously worked at Addleshaw Goddard in Manchester for ten years, acting for clients such as United Utilities and PZ Cussons before he moved back to Preston in 2005. Since then he has been involved in a number of high profile deals, including the MBOs of Hillendale Group and Taylor Patterson, the sale of the Vantage motor dealership group and acquisitions for NIS Holdings and Leyland Exports.
Keith lives in Mellor, just outside Blackburn. He was educated at Hutton Grammar School, read law at Durham University and is married with 2 young sons.

Keith is a previous winner of North West Insider’s Lancashire Dealmaker of the Year award. In 2011 the Corporate team were awarded 'Corporate Law Firm of the Year' at the prestigious Lancashire Dealmakers Awards. Keith is recommended in the 2011 Legal 500 guide to the legal industry.
