Summary
Ian is a member of the commercial litigation team and heads up the debt recovery department. He is responsible for overseeing Debt Action Direct and is the first point of call for disputed debt recovery matters.
Specialisms
Ian specialises in all areas of debt recovery and has experience in collecting debts in a large number of industries including consumer credit, education, retail, advertising, utilities and the public sector. His debt recovery department currently acts for a wide range of clients including building surveyors, importers, public schools, advertisers and equipment hire companies. Ian also has experience in pursuing debts through insolvency.
Background
Ian joined Napthens in 2010 from Halliwells in Manchester. Prior to working at Halliwells, Ian was employed as a senior litigation officer in the legal department of Robinson Way & Company, where he was responsible for dealing with proceedings which became defended.
Ian graduated from the University of Hull in 2004 with an honours degree in Law. Since graduating Ian has qualified as a Legal Executive having obtained Fellow status of the Institute of Legal Executive in 2011.

A boat, a motor and enough supplies to get me to the mainland. If that was not allowed then my fiancée, a relatively strong knife and a lighter.

What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding?
When you get a well deserved but unexpected victory when a Defendant who has disputed the claim from the start eventually calls to arrange payment.
