Summary
A member of the litigation team, Debbie’s main role is to assist the partners and solicitors on procedural tasks. Debbie deals with procedural matters on larger claims such as disclosure, preparation for trial and witness evidence. She attends Court on procedural hearings and attends with Counsel on trials, providing support to client and Counsel and co-ordinating witness evidence.
Specialisms
Whilst Debbie assists member of the team, her role continues to develop and she is also responsible for her own case load including tenancy disputes, debts and contractual disputes. She also advises on various issues for individual National Farmer’s Union clients.
Background
Debbie began her career in the legal profession as a legal secretary in 1987, joining Napthens in 2004 as secretary in the litigation department. Debbie became a paralegal within the department, qualifying as a Member of the Institute of Legal Executives in 2007. More recently she attained Graduate Membership of ILEX.

If you had an alternative career – what would be your fantasy job?
I am doing it now! Having had children at an early age, I sought the opportunity to enhance my education and career by attaining a Degree and thereafter ILEX to pursue a career in law.
How do you like to relax out of work?
I enjoy walking and spending time with my youngest child and grandchildren. I am an avid reader of various fiction works and enjoy listening to music – sometimes very loud!
