New head for Rural law team
Solicitor Andrew Holden has been appointed head of Rural at Napthens solicitors.
Andrew, who has worked for the Rural team since 2006, is a recognised expert handling a wide range of property and business matters for his agricultural clients.
He takes over from Geoff Tomlinson, who has worked for Napthens for 35 years and become one of the most respected agricultural law specialists in the region. Geoff will continue to play an important role in the department.
Andrew, of Goosnargh near Preston, advises on topics including renewable energy, estate planning, wills, land and property sales and purchases, partnership agreements and agricultural tenancy matters.
He is active in the North West agricultural community, sitting on the committee of the Garstang and District Agricultural Show, and is a member of the Fylde Farmers group and national body the Agricultural Law Association.
Napthens is one of the few law practices to have a specialist rural team, and is an NFU panel firm. The Rural team was given a boost late last year when trainee Melissa Taylor qualified as a solicitor.
Andrew Holden said: “Geoff has made the Rural team at Napthens a nationally recognised name, and I’m delighted the firm has put its trust in me to take over from him.
“I’m looking forward to developing the department and building on these firm foundations.”
Geoff Tomlinson added: “Andrew has a real passion for the agricultural community and has done a great job advising the firm’s rural clients.
“It is a natural step for him to take over as head of department and I’m looking forward to continuing to work alongside him and seeing the direction he takes the team next.”
