James Allison - Partner, Corporate & Commercial Services

Managing a wide range of corporate and commercial clients, James works with an elite team at Napthens to provide advice to businesses that experience rapid growth in emerging markets and businesses who wish to prepare for sale or prepare for expansion.

James is particularly responsible for managing client relationships for Napthens’ Corporate Division. A large proportion of his time is spent with clients to understand their business objectives and to support their business needs from a legal point of view, with the aim of increasing shareholder value.

An experienced litigator, James acts for many clients in the Construction, Licensed Trade, Commercial & Residential Property Development, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors. James also works alongside Corporate Finance Advisors, banks, such as RBS and Barclays and various Private Equity houses, to formulate deal origination. 

James joined Napthens from Manchester law firm Pannone where he was he was Head of Entrepreneurial Services. The concept behind this department was recognised for being 'an innovative provision of legal services' in the category of 'Most Innovative Lawyers' by The Financial Times.

In the 2009 Lancashire Business View Young'uns feature, profiling the region's 'hottest young business talent', James was described as “one of the most respected corporate lawyers in the region”.

Away from the office James enjoys time playing squash, golf, watching Formula 1 and spending weekends with his family in the Lake District.
