15/12/2009
PRESTON based leisure provider Sceptre Leisure plc has announced the acquisition of Wimborne based company Australian 8 Ball Company Limited for £1.1 million.
Australian 8 Ball is a leading specialist supplier of a wide range of amusement equipment including club fruit machines, pool tables, CD, digital and video jukeboxes, plasma screens and football tables.
The acquisition represents one of a number of strategic purchases made by Sceptre and extends the company’s range both geographically and in terms of product and service.
Sceptre was advised by Napthens’ corporate team, with the deal being lead by senior corporate assistant Victoria Bromiley with support from corporate partner Andrew Clare and commercial property advice from Richard Clithero.
Ken Turner, CEO of Sceptre, said that “the acquisition of Australian 8 Ball was strategically important to the Sceptre group and would allow the group access to a wider range of customers together with providing a platform to penetrate new geographic areas within the UK.”
Sceptre Leisure has grown successfully since 1998, with its principal activities centred around the provision of gaming, lottery and leisure equipment to the licensed trade.
