A NEW alcohol treatment care home is to open its doors in Bury.
Shardale Ltd, a company owned by experienced care specialists Dale Mordlock and Sharon Smith, has taken a lease on Woolfield House, Wash Lane, Bury.
The company is to run a fully CQC-registered (Care Quality Commission) residential care home for those recovering from alcohol addiction.
Shardale also has two other sites – in Broughton near Preston, and Haslingden – which are currently in the planning stages. Dale Mordlock has previously worked in a consultation role for several large companies, and as a lead addiction therapist at the respected Priory Hospital in Preston.
The centre will open thanks to help from Allan Sumner, partner in the Commercial Property team at Napthens solicitors, assisted by Daniel Fallows, who advised Shardale on the lease.
Shardale will work with 22 service users, and include 11 full time staff and a number of part time specialists.
Alan Sumner of Napthens said: “Dale has an excellent pedigree of experience in the field, and will be doing important work for people in real need of assistance. I wish him all the best in this venture.”
The Bury site is the location of a former hostel specialising in substance misuse. Under Shardale the number of service users will be reduced from its previous figure of 27, and will now be fully registered.
Dale added: “I’m delighted to be opening Shardale’s first residential care home in Bury.
“As a fully monitored and registered home I am proud to be offering a service like this, and look forward to moving forward with Shardale’s other sites later in the year.”
